What wax do you use?
We use a premium coconut & rapeseed wax blend. It’s soy-free, paraffin-free, vegan and cruelty-free.
Why don’t you use soy wax?
Soy can contribute to deforestation and is often GMO. Our coconut & rapeseed blend offers cleaner performance and a lower impact.
Are your products vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes—no animal-derived ingredients and never tested on animals.
Do your candles and melts contain paraffin or mineral oils?
No—paraffin-free and no petroleum-derived waxes.
What fragrances do you use?
High-grade fragrance oils that are IFRA compliant and CLP-labelled for safety.
Are your wicks lead-free?
Yes—cotton, lead-free wicks.
Are your products safe for homes with pets and children?
Use as directed, keep out of reach, and never leave a flame unattended. Our melts are ideal with electric burners for a flame-free option.
Wax Melts & Burners
What is the point of wax melts?
Wax melts give strong, affordable, and flexible home fragrance—often a stronger throw than candles—with minimal packaging.
How long does one wax melt last?
Typically 8–12 hours per piece, depending on the scent and burner.
Do I need a special burner?
Use a wax melt burner. We recommend electric for the most consistent, flame-free experience.
How do I remove used wax from the burner?
Allow to cool slightly, then lift the puck out, or warm for 10–20 seconds and wipe out safely.
Can I mix fragrances?
Yes—blend small amounts to create custom scents.
Candle Care & Safety
How long should I burn a candle?
First burn: 2–4 hours to create a full melt pool. Afterwards, burn in 2–3 hour sessions.
How do I stop tunnelling?
Give the first burn enough time to reach the jar edges, and keep wicks trimmed to ~5 mm before each burn.
Why is there frosting or texture on the wax?
Natural coconut/rapeseed wax can show frosting—it’s cosmetic only and doesn’t affect performance.
Is soot normal?
A tiny amount can occur; trim the wick and avoid drafts for a clean burn.
Diffusers & Room Sprays
How long do your reed diffusers last?
Around 8–12 weeks depending on room temperature and airflow.
How many reeds should I use?
Start with 6–8 reeds; add more for stronger scent.
Are room sprays safe on fabrics?
Spray into the air, not directly onto delicate fabrics or polished surfaces. Patch-test if needed.
Ordering, Shipping & Delivery (UK)
Where do you ship from?
All orders ship from Nottinghamshire, UK.
How long does delivery take?
Typically 2–4 working days after dispatch (tracked services available).
Do you offer free shipping?
We run promotions—check the banner at the top of the site or during checkout.
Can I change my order after placing it?
Contact us ASAP. If it hasn’t shipped, we’ll do our best to amend it.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently UK-focused; contact us for wholesale export options.
Returns & Refunds
What is your returns policy?
Unopened items can be returned within 14 days of delivery (exclusions apply for personalised/white-label). If something arrives damaged, contact us within 48 hours with photos.
My order arrived damaged—what should I do?
Email matty@mattyscandles.co.uk with your order number and photos; we’ll put it right quickly.

Is your packaging recyclable?
Yes—recyclable packaging wherever possible, minimal plastic, and right-sized boxes.
Are your ingredients locally sourced?
Our rapeseed is grown in the UK & Europe; coconut is responsibly sourced.
Do you offset carbon?
We focus on low-impact materials and short supply chains. Offsetting initiatives are under review.

Can you make white-label candles, melts, and diffusers?
Absolutely—we produce unbranded products with CLP on the base. You provide labels/branding.
What are your MOQs (minimum order quantities)?
Low MOQs to help you start small; details provided after approval.
Can you match my scent brief?
We can suggest close matches or develop bespoke blends (lead times and MOQs apply).
Lead times for wholesale orders?
Typically 7–21 days depending on volume and season. We’ll confirm at quotation.
Do you ship wholesale orders on pallets?
Yes—pallet or courier, depending on size and destination.
