However, our coconut and rapeseed blend offers an excellent alternative, designed specifically for a slow, clean fragrance release that we believe enhances your candle experience. Paraffin wax, derived from petroleum, is another widely used material in the candle industry. It’s often chosen for its ability to hold fragrance and its relatively low cost. However, we have made a conscious decision to avoid paraffin in our candles. This choice is primarily driven by indoor-air-quality concerns. By opting for our coconut and rapeseed blend, we aim to provide you with a cleaner burning candle, contributing positively to your home’s air quality. Beyond being soy-free and paraffin-free, our coconut and rapeseed wax blend is also palm-free, beeswax-free, and non-GMO. We take care to ensure our ingredients are ethically considered. This meticulous process has been our standard since 2018. The small-batch approach is crucial for us because it allows for unparalleled control over several key aspects of our candles. It ensures even fragrance distribution throughout the wax, resulting in a consistent scent experience from beginning to end. It also guarantees a beautiful, smooth wax finish and enables thorough quality checks on every candle we produce. We understand that the true measure of a scented candle is how well it releases its aroma, both when unlit and when burning. That’s why every fragrance we incorporate into our candles undergoes rigorous testing for both cold scent throw and hot scent throw. Cold scent throw refers to the fragrance intensity of the candle when it’s not lit, allowing you to appreciate the scent before burning. Hot scent throw measures how well the fragrance diffuses into a room when the candle is lit. Our testing ensures that you get a rich and lasting aromatic experience, whether the candle is burning or not. Our standard 220g scented candles are designed to provide approximately 45 hours of beautiful fragrance and warm glow. This generous burn time is achieved when the candle is used correctly. Following our care instructions, such as allowing the wax pool to reach the edges on the first burn and trimming the wick, will help you maximise the life of your candle and ensure an optimal scent experience every time. The wick is a small but vital component of any candle. Our wicks are carefully selected to complement our wax blend and fragrance oils, ensuring a clean and steady flame. Crucially, all our wicks are zinc-free and lead-free. This commitment to non-toxic materials further reinforces our dedication to your indoor air quality and a cleaner burning experience. For those who prefer a flameless fragrance solution, our wax melts are an excellent choice. Made with our signature coconut and rapeseed wax blend, these melts offer a quick and potent burst of aroma. Our wax melts are created by mixing approximately 10% fragrance oil into the wax, which is then poured into rubber moulds and set for 24 hours. The higher concentration of fragrance oil and the direct warming method often lead to wax melts feeling stronger than candles, as the fragrance releases quickly when warmed. Using wax melts is straightforward and enjoyable. They are designed to be used in an electric or tealight warmer. To ensure safety and the best fragrance experience, always use a suitable warmer that is appropriate for wax melts. Do not overfill your warmer, and crucially, never add water to the wax. Always ensure your warmer is placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface and never leave it unattended while in use. For optimal performance, let the wax cool completely before attempting to swap it out. Once the scent from a melt fades, it’s time to replace it with a fresh one to continue enjoying your favourite fragrance.
